China and Mongolia have announced they will broaden cooperation in mineral resources and energy, a China official announced yesterday.

Zhang Xiaoqiang, deputy director of China's National Development and Reform Commission, said the two countries should work more closely together in joint development of large mining projects as well as construction of transportation infrastructure.

Mongolian Mining Minister D. Gankhuyag highlighted the rapid development of Mongolia-China economic and trade cooperation, saying that Mongolia has seen Chinese investment rapidly increasing in the country in the last few years.

The minister also suggested the two sides strengthen cooperation in deep processing of resource products and adopt measures to solve difficulties in coal transportation.

These measures would assist the myriad of mineral projects moving through development owned by Australian mineral companies, beset with large infrastructure spending. Reported by Proactive Investors 19 hours ago.
