Patch Canton, MA --Canton-based Baskin-Robbins has signed franchise agreements as it plans to triple its presence in China, according to a Boston.com report on Wednesday.
Along with Dunkin' Donuts, also based in Canton, Baskin-Robbins is part of the parent company Dunkin' Brands Group, Inc.
The ice-cream chain said in a news release on Wednesday that the company is projecting to open 249 Baskin-Robbins shops in China during the next 10 years. Currently, the company has more than 90 locations in China, including shops in Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Hangzhou and Zhengzhou.
Dunkin' Donuts, meanwhile, is pursuing expansion plans, according to Boston.com.
