China tells the U.S. to bring home the bacon

Despite the mileage, Memphis and China have something in common — a deep love for pork. The opening of the Chinese market was supposed to be the a boon to U.S. pork exporters but earlier this year, both China and Russia banned U.S. pork imports. Right on cue, Smithfield Foods (NYSE:SFD), the largest domestic pork supplier, announced a more than 60 percent drop in net income.
