Airbus has inked a deal with China Eastern Airlines Corp. for the purchase of 60 A320 planes. According to Bloomberg, China Eastern said in a statement that it received a “substantive” discount to the list price of $5.4 billion for the single-aisle planes, adding that Airbus also agreed to take 18 regional jets off its hands. China Eastern said the A320s are due to arrive between 2014 and 2017, and will be used mainly on domestic routes.
